We're thrilled to announce the return of our beloved “Pop-up Piper” series, kicking off with a special Victoria Day performance on Monday, May 19. Join us at 1:00 p.m. beside the Statue of Queen Victoria in Assiniboine Park’s English Garden for this musical celebration!
In celebration of His Majesty King Charles III’s upcoming visit to Canada, our Society President, Dwight MacAulay, shares: “We thought it fitting to celebrate Victoria Day with a spirited performance, marked by renewed national pride.”
The spotlight will be on the talented Piper Matthew Owen Hunt from the Lord Selkirk Robert Fraser Memorial Pipe Band. At just 16, Matthew has already made waves at the Rose Bowl and band competitions with his outstanding skill.
“The Pop-up Piper is one of our society's signature activities,” MacAulay adds. We’re excited to embrace our country’s rich multicultural heritage and youth through performances all summer long!
Stay tuned for more dates. All events are free and open to the public, thanks to the support of the St. Andrew’s Society of Winnipeg. Don’t miss out on experiencing this vibrant Scottish tradition and community spirit!
